What can I do with Oral Health Navigator training?

The Oral Health Navigator training is a newly developed skill set in Maine. The work of a trained person varies by employment location. Some may use this training to enhance their knowledge of oral health to serve the communities they already work with (ie. RNs, CNAs, CHWs, MDs, etc.). Others may use what they learn in this training to seek new employment opportunities! Those with Oral Health Navigator training may assist with care navigation, oral health assessment, dental team support, patient support, and more!


How do I receive credit or credentialling for this training?

Are there employment opportunities associated with this training?

The training is first being explored for use in the Maine CDC School Oral Health Program (SOHP). In this program, the Oral Health Navigator will assist in providing SOHP services. SOHP services include preventative dental services, oral health screenings, and education for students in Maine schools. For more information on employment opportunities, please submit this interest form.
